A man was shot multiple times Friday night December 8, 2023 in Richmond.
According to Richmond Police, officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the area of Holly Street around 7:30 p.m.
The victim, Shawn Dargavell, 32 of Richmond, told police he had just left the East Main Tobacco Shop, behind the Old Swifty Gas Station, when a man pulled a gun and tried to rob him.
A scuffle ensued between the perpetrator and Dargavell in the area of Pine Street, resulting in Dargavell suffering gunshot wounds to his left thigh, calf, and one bullet grazed his chin. After being shot, Dargavell made it to a residence on Holly Street, where they called for assistance. Due to the victim’s injuries, he was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
The Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to assist the investigation. Detectives are currently working to identify the suspect.
