The Richmond Police report driving along Big Hill Avenue and observing a male suspect allegedly slinging his hands in the air while walking.
The suspect, later identified as 26 year old Cody Sons was approached by officials after allegedly walking in the middle of the road. When officers made contact with Sons, he advised authorities that he was convinced his actual location was in Mt. Sterling and he was actually walking on Maysville Rd.
Police report Sons showing signs of being heavily under the influence of an alleged controlled substance.
Sons also allegedly advised authorities of hidden needles and a small baggie of methamphetamine on his person. Sons was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center on charges of public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.
