WBONTV visited downtown Richmond and talked to event coordinator Rose Rex about the Richmond Main St. Clean Sweep that occurred Friday.
Cities throughout the region participate in the voluntary cleanup event. Rex told WBONTV that about 125 volunteers signed up for the event this year. Food and T-shirts were provided for the volunteers.
Businesses gathered city employees and put them together in teams to clean up downtown Richmond. “This is their way of doing community service back to the community, showing that they do care about their Main Street, their downtown area,” says Rex.
