Richmond fire chief Robert Carmichael has resigned after serving in the position since spring of 2017. He first submitted his resignation in January. The vote on the order accepting his resignation was nearly unanimous save for a no vote from mayor Robert Blythe who voted no as way to show gratitude for the time Carmichael has spent as fire chief.
Chief of Police James Ebert also announced the statistics report for 2018 and was glad to announce that vehicular accidents were down from 2017. Crime rates for property crimes and crimes against people also saw a decline in 2018 compared to 2017. Ebert said he was “proud of the work” that is being done by his officers.
Lastly, the commission also voted to approve the purchasing of a picnic shelter for Paradise Cove.
