Dancers from Flamenco Louisville were welcomed to the Richmond Area Arts Council this past Saturday evening. A sold-out audience of RAAC members and guests were treated to a delightful evening including a delicious meal and plenty of Flamenco dancing and music.
The Flamenco dance troupe featured four dancers under the leadership of Paula Collins, the founding member of the nonprofit organization. Paul T. Carney accompanied on the Flamenco guitar.
The Flamenco dancers entertained the RAAC membership and guests with several Flamenco tunes and various dances which expressed passion, love, joy, and sadness. According to Paula Collins, all four of the Flamenco dancers had trained in Spain.
Paula also thanked RAAC Executive Director Randy Westbrook for bringing the dance troupe to Richmond and expressed her joy for being able to dance on the wonderful wooden stage. The sound created by the Flamenco dancers using their shoes and heels was quite impressive.
