Several area rescue departments responded to a secluded area of Estill County to rescue a man.
A still unidentified man, who reportedly may been surveying land at the time, slid down a steep area then over a cliff 20 to 40 feet and sustained serious injuries.
Responding units converged at the address on Crooked Creek, near the Lily Mountain Nature Preserve a little after noon Wednesday.
According to the Estill County Rescue Squad, after arriving on scene. several individuals walked in to attempt to locate the man.
The area was extremely difficult to navigate with down trees and other terrain. The agency even posted a photo of what appears to be a venomous snake they encountered.
After a long hike in, contact was made with the man.
Teams got the man safely onto a side by side, after he was carried most of the way out.
He was then transported by Estill County EMS to Marcum and Wallace Helipad where Airmethods Kentucky transported him to UK hospital for further evaluation.
KSP described his injuries at non life threatening.
