Rep. Robert Goforth Introduces Bill Removing Restrictions on Gun Free Zones for Concealed Carry Holders

Representative Robert Goforth has introduced House Bill 30 which would remove restrictions on where people with concealed carry licenses can legally carry their firearm. The bill would allow fire arms to be legally carried in places such as college campuses. The bill would also allow people to legally carry a firearm in locations such as bars. Goforth explained that although under current Kentucky law you can’t legally carry a firearm in bars, there is a loop hole where someone can have an unloaded fire arm in one pocket and a loaded magazine in another. He went on to say that currently certain individuals such as law enforcement officers or judges are exempt from gun free zone restrictions and that he believes that all citizens should be allowed to protect themselves.
