Renovations at the Madison County Public Library were started with the goal of having more people coming to and using the library. The library has been expanded in the back and had three new floors added complete with an elevator. In the new space are several rooms for conferencing where the public can schedule rooms for presentations and more. One room features a drop down screen and blinds which the library’s Support Services Manager John Payne said will be used for screenings of films and documentaries. Another one of the new spaces will be whats called a creator’s room. A room with equipment such as vinyl cutters, 3-D printers and sewing machines for the public to use.
Payne said that the renovations will still take a couple months before they are completely finished but the library is more than ready for summer reading. Other summer activities will be regular film screenings with lunch provided to children under 18, rock painting, and a princess party.
