Thursday night, units with Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department and The Madison County Fire Department were called out to a structure fire off of Battlefield Memorial Highway, south of Kingston. The structure was a two car detached garage used as a shop.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire. The fire was extinguished so fast that containers of fuel and propane inside the shed never ignited. According to the Red Lick Volunteers, the quick response to put out the fire prevented several possible explosions from that combustible material that would have jeopardized a barn and equipment next to the burning shed.
All units arrived on scene around 5:30 pm and left the scene about 7pm.
