In a report filed by the Richmond Police Department, a woman allegedly stole several ribeye steaks from Meijer in Richmond by concealing them in a purse that had also been stolen from the store.
The citation states that Bande Gilbert was seen by Meijer Loss Prevention slipping several ribeye steaks into her purse and made no attempt to pay for them. The suspect reportedly fled towards Meijer gas station where she dropped the purse and was detained by Richmond Police.
According to the report, Gilbert claimed she “did nothing wrong” and advised her son was visiting for the holiday and she had nothing to cook. Loss prevention confirmed the suspect and discovered the purse containing the steaks was also stolen – totaling $98.90 in merchandise.
Bande Gilbert was arrested and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
