Since no one would leave without the other, they refused being airlifted. The swift water team made 2 trips and brought both safely to a tearful reunion with their parents who drove up non-stop from Georgia.
The Rescue team then went down roads where the say the observed so many homes that were swept off their foundations, untold vehicles flipped onto their tops or wrapped around trees. and made contact with many families who were clearly in shock. The team went house to house making account for everyone on the roads they were assigned.
