Last night around 10:30 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian around the 34 mile marker in the southbound lanes of Interstate-75 in Laurel County.
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Sergeant Michael Hamblin determined that a 2016 Freightliner Commercial Vehicle being operated by Luis Gurdarrama-Fernandez, 49, of Illinois was traveling southbound when he struck a pedestrian Billi J Mcvay, 22, of Corbin who was on the roadway.
Mcvay was airlifted from the scene and flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.
