The Richmond Rotary Club helped the Richmond Police Department kickoff the Christmas holidays by celebrating the eleventh annual RPD Appreciation Day at the Police Department Thursday evening.
In 2015, Steve Rosenberg held the first annual RPD Appreciation Day, and this year Steve passed the baton off to the Richmond Rotary Club who graciously accepted the challenge. After a successful career in Richmond, Mr. Rosenberg thanked the Richmond Police Department for all they do to keep the streets of Richmond safe. Steve moved to Hallandale Beach, Florida in 2022 and has worked to keep this event alive for the past two years.
Officer Cody Grabowski was the winner of a weekend trip to Las Vegas that was sponsored by Guardian Savings Bank and Grant Excavation. Ankit Patel won the Grand Prize Trip to the destination of his choice sponsored by Cumberland Valley National Bank, Rodney Davis, and Adams Buick GMC Truck.
Officer Lani Coleman won a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee sponsored by Hager Cabinets and Linda Hager Pack. At the close of the night, Officer Grabowski asked Officer Coleman if she would swap trips with him due to having three children. Officer Coleman graciously accepted the offer.
Raffle prizes included the following a Blackstone Grill and Fire Pit from Lowe’s, set of Wireless Speakers from Rent-A-Center, 50” Vizo television from Walmart, a 55” television from Pieratt’s, a 31-piece tool set from Menards, a wine gift basket from Chenault Winery, $100 gift card from Meijer, and a gift bag from WBON-TV.
All the officers received gift coupons from Chick Fil-A, Culver’s, Galaxy Bowling, Cinemark, EKU Athletics, Soft Shoe, Captain D’s, Fazoli’s, Wendy’s, Firehouse Subs, Chenault Winery, Raising Cane’s, and Papa Johns.
The following companies gave gift certificates including Jackson’s Restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, Logan’s Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel, Koto Japanese Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Outback, Kings Buffet, Red Lobster, Sonny’s BBQ, Better Burger, Golden Corral, First Southern, Casa Fiesta, Nuevo Vallarta, Mia Hacienda, Apollo Pizza and Holler Burger, and Texas Roadhouse.
First Gear designed and donated t-shirts to the RPD. Ruth Hunt donated Blue Monday candy bars, and Ale-8 gave six packs to every member of the RPD. Lays Donuts gave four dozen variety packs of donuts, and Starbucks sent coffee for the police department and the celebration.
