One Remains in Hospital After Alleged DUI Crash

From a release by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office:

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond, is investigating an injury collision which occurred around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday October 25, 2017 on Battlefield Memorial Highway in Madison County.

According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, Dylan Casey, 18 years old of Waco, was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer with passengers Audrey Alleruzzo and Kenneth Houlihan. Brianna Cowden, 22 years old of Richmond, was driving a silver Scion when the two vehicles collided head on.

Brianna Cowden was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Audrey Alleruzzo and Kenneth Houlihan were transported to Baptist Health Richmond with minor injuries. Dylan Casey was arrested and charged with DUI 1st. Casey received additional charges of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Assault 1st Degree. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

The collision remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police. Madison County Fire Department, Madison County Rescue Squad, and Madison County EMS assisted at the scene.
