A Sunday evening fire has left one dead in Richmond. Around 8:50 last night Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison responded to a call to a structure fire at Barnes mill road and Willis Branch Road in Richmond. At the scene 69 year old Gregory Lee Brackney was pronounced deceased. The body was sent for an autopsy in Frankfort however the Medical Examiners office is closed today due to high water. A preliminary determination for cause of death is expected tomorrow.
The Richmond Fire Department, Madison County Fire Department, Madison County coroners office, Madison County Sheriffs office and the State Fire Marshalls office were all on scene.
