Thursday night, October 12, 2023, around 7, an accident resulting in entrapment occurred on I-75 southbound near the 55 mile marker. Two people had to be extricated from the vehicle by Mount Vernon Fire Department personnel.
The crash involved a pickup truck towing a camper trailer. One person was air lifted from the scene by helicopter. The other person was treated and released at the scene by Rockcastle EMS. That individual was then taken into custody by the Rockcastle Sheriff’s Office and transported to a local jail. Arrested was Rebecca Skinner age 62 of Shepherdsville. She was charges with DUI, wanton endangerment and other charges.
I-75 was closed for well over 2 hours due to the accident, the extrication, helicopter landing, criminal investigation, and accident cleanup. The crash, and any related criminal charges, remain under investigation by the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office.
