Drivers who use KY 3536 (old KY 30) in Owsley County should be aware of a road closure scheduled to begin Friday, March 4. The road will be closed at the Big Springs Road intersection, located approximately 1 mile from the KY 1071 intersection near the Owsley-Jackson county line.
This closure is necessary to complete the grade and drain of the intersection of new KY 30 and Big Springs Road, as well as realigning a segment of old KY 30.
No reopening date has yet been announced. Through traffic should use new KY 30 between Tyner and Booneville, as the new segment opened between Tyner and Travellers Rest last month.
In addition, another segment of old KY 30 (KY 3630) is closed in Jackson County at the KY 1431 intersection for similar reasons.
