Georgetown Police report that Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at around 7:20 PM, a call was received of an unwanted female at the Marathon gas station at Canewood Center Drive. GPD Officers identified the female as Heather Adkins and discovered she had an outstanding warrant from Bell County. Adkins was arrested and lodged at the Scott County Detention Center.
Police later learned Ms. Adkins has pending charges from Colerain Township (Ohio) for abandoning her five-year-old non-verbal autistic son last Thursday. The child was located Thursday night as he walked alone on the road waving at motorists. Adkins faces charges of cruelty toward a child and child endangerment in Colerain Township.
GPD Officers are currently working with Colerain Township Detectives to extradite Ms. Adkins to Ohio to face charges in this case.
