Now that it is deer season, we have hunting on the brain here in Central Kentucky.
WBON-TV spoke to Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Education Representative John Coffey about all the safety tips that the Department recommends. He says the hunting education courses will teach you everything you need to know, and those born after 1975 need to enroll before going out in the field. However, children 12 and under are exempt from the courses so long as they are will an adult when out hunting.
Coffey also shows the correct clothing to wear, and has advice when using both bows and firearms in order to stay safe.
He directed everyone interested in any kind of hunting to the field guide, and the website at Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources
