For years the residents who live in the Hidden Hills and Kensington neighborhoods here in RIchmond have requested a traffic light be installed on their exit. With the addition of more car lots and now several more houses and the connection to the back entrance of Save A Lot that includes hundreds of new apartments and townhomes, traffic exiting off of Greathouse Drive had gotten extremely dangerous. After finally getting the light installed the only wait was for it to go live and earlier today The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that they will activate the new traffic signal tomorrow, Wednesday, July 3, at U.S. 25/Robert B. Martin Bypass at Greathouse Drive in Richmond. The signal installation will improve traffic flow and hopefully cut down on the number of accidents in the area.
The light will activate around 9.am. and will be a five phase signal with protected-permitted left turn signals on U.S. 25.
District 7 of the KTC includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
