Today at the Madison county courthouse, a Native American blessing was conducted ahead of the pow wow this weekend. A smudging sage ceremony was done to cleanse the building, as with participation by Mayor Jim Barnes and Judge Executive Reagan Taylor.
A crowd gathered to watch a peace pipe passing and flute playing as well as speakers.
