Early morning storms brough vicious winds and rains into the WBON-TV9 viewing area Thursday morning. Madison County was one of several counties put under a tornado warning for about 45 minutes as the worst of the storms moved through the area. WBON-TV has received videos, and photos of extensive property damage across the area. Arlington Golf Course had several downed trees and the railing torn off the swimming pool. Union City has downed trees and powerlines. A car was flipped over on its side in Hickory Hills Subdivision. A tree fell on a car in Kirksville among many other reports of homes suffering roof damage as well as damage to buildings and hay storage units were reported.
The National Weather Service confirmed this afternoon a team will be visiting Madison County to assess the damage and determine exactly what classification this latest storm will fall under.
