In this edition of Musical Musings, Jesse Waldon stopped by to play us a few songs after he rushed from class on Eastern Kentucky University’s campus.
Being from EKU, Jesse name-drops a few local artists he works with that he believes are talented and would make good editions to the show. Jesse also shares his writing process during the show, and explains his plans to post an album on Spotify and Apple Music very soon.
Jesse says his inspirations for songwriting range from R&B artist Frank Ocean to John Mayer… and credits EKU fraternity APO for allowing him to express himself and hone his abilities.
As always, we got a little deep and also discussed the implications of some of the arts programs being cut due to budget drawbacks at public universities in Kentucky. Waldon says he has witnessed this firsthand, and that is why it is so important to still support the local arts both on campus and off.
