In this edition of Musical Musings, Bad Mustache stopped by to play us a few of his songs from the new album, 50,000. Jesse was accompanied by Ross Smith, a long-time friend and musician who tagged along for this musical session.
Bad Mustache (Jesse Waldon) name-drops a few local artists he works with that he believes are talented and are blowing up the Central Kentucky music scene, especially across EKU’s campus.
Jesse also shares his writing process during the show, and explains his plans moving forward with 50,000, including a secret possible signing deal.
Ross goes into detail about some of the behind the scene antics that took place while certain songs were being recorded and written, and gives the audience an idea on how the album was put together.
Jesse says his inspirations for songwriting range from R&B artist Frank Ocean to John Mayer… and credits EKU fraternity APO for allowing him to express himself and hone his abilities.
Although more will be revealed, Jesse says there are a lot of exciting musical career opportunities in the works and that he is shocked that some of the songs he wrote for 50,000 have taken off as, in his words, this was simply his ramblings and artistic expression. He elaborates that it is a dream that this album would ever be critically examined.
