Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead responded to a reported death March 9, 2024, at 7:30 pm. KSP was contacted by Rowan County Sheriff’s Department for assistance with the death investigation. The incident occurred at 55 Lafayette Drive in Morehead.
State Police investigators determined that Matt Jones, 35 years of age from Morehead, was in a physical altercation with Earl Glover, 60 years of age from Morehead. During the altercation, Mr. Jones struck Mr. Glover several times. Mr. Glover was pronounced deceased by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt at St. Claire Medical Center.
Matt Jones was charged with Murder and lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center. This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
