An accident around 1:30 this Tuesday afternoon involving a motorcycle and a RPD cruiser caused traffic to be diverted off Goggins Lane while the matter was investigated. Richmond Police Chief Rodney Richardson tells WBON’TV9 that, while an officer was working another accident, the operator of the motorcycle was leaving the Richmond Centre’ at a high rate of speed and ran into the back of a sitting cruiser.
The motorcyclist collided with the back of the cruiser and was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The chief expressed the injuries were not life threatening. The cyclist was the only reported injury in the mishap.
