We are learning more details about a deadly fire on Paint Lick Road Sunday night. The Berea Fire Department states when they arrived, crews reported heavy smoke coming from the home. One team was able to make entry and do initial search of the entire house. During that search the crew found two persons deceased. Once the fire was extinguished, and the house was ventilated of all smoke, the scene was secured and the Madison County Sheriff’s office along with the Madison County Coroner were notified.
The cause of death of the two individuals and the fire remains under investigation. Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison now reports the two victims are 27-year-old Heaven Renner, and 57-year-old Tommy Damrell. It is unknown the deceased connection with the property or where they are from. The home reportedly had no active utilities.
Emergency personnel remained on the scene until around 3:30 AM Monday morning.
