A Berea woman is behind bars after a Madison County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit alerted authorities to what they say was a controlled substance at her residence on Tuesday.
A Sheriff’s Deputy was assisting the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kentucky Division of Probation & Parole at the Candlewood Drive residence. Following the operation, K-9 Unit Bruno conducted a free-air sniff around vehicles on the property.
According to the arrest citation, K-9 Bruno gave a positive alert around one of the vehicles which led officers to conduct a search. Officers located a shoebox containing a sealed package with over 1 pound of a suspected fentanyl substance.
28-year-old Katherine Harrison was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance > 28 grams (Fentanyl). She was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
