Man rescued from high rising creek at Red Lick Friday morning

Rising waters in Madison County resulted in a swift water rescue of one person this morning.

According to the Red Lick Fire Department, this morning at about 5:30, Red Lick VFD and Madison County Fire Department were dispatched to a call of a person trapped in a vehicle in a creek.

A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy found the location, on Old Red Lick Road 2, and directed the other first responders to the scene

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was able to   to extract himself according to the department. The driver was sitting on top of the vehicle when first responders arrived.

Firefighers were able to rescue the man from the high rushing and cold waters using a rope to anchor him and bring him to shore.

The driver reportedly refused care, as he was unharmed.
