The Richmond Police Department arrested a man Wednesday for losing consciousness while operating a vehicle.
Police stopped a vehicle belonging to 35-year-old Matthew Mcclure on Big Hill Avenue between Boggs Ln. and Steep St. According to a citation, Mcclune was having trouble breathing and his lips were turning purple. EMS managed to administer narcan to Mcclune and he regained consciousness.
Mcclune stated that he did not know what happened to him and admitted to driving from his work place and was traveling home. Mcclune allegedly had something to drink prior to work, but did not have that much. He admitted to taking a drink of vodka and Powerade from a coworker but believed that he was under the influence of other drugs.
Mcclune told police that as he was traveling home, he began feeling sick and pulled over to vomit. He continued to travel home and lost consciousness. Mcclune stated that the last place he remembered passing was Foxhaven Dr. and Lexington Rd.
He contacted an attorney after he was brought to the hospital.
