Man facing handful of charges, warrants after leading police on high speed chase on snowy roads

A Laurel County man is now in jail facing a multitude of charges after he allegedly attempted to flee sheriff deputies on snow-covered roads.

The arrest occurred on Slate Lick street in London after the suspect, Corey Goldsberry allegedly tried to flee from deputies in a black colored Chevrolet Equinox.

He was reportedly driving at a speed of 65 mph on the heavily snow-covered roadways. The sheriff’s office says Goldsberry wrecked into an embankment.

However, the chase continued as he then tried to run from deputies. During his arrest, which included a brief struggle according to police, deputies discovered he was wanted on four outstanding warrants, including absconding parole.

He is also facing charges from a warrant stemming from an incident when he allegedly left the scene of a motorcycle accident, as well as DUI. Corey Goldsberry was additionally charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit; fleeing or evading police: motor vehicle; fleeing or evading police: on foot; and driving on DUI, suspended license.
