The Nicholasville Police Department took a man into custody and charged him with manslaughter following a deadly overdose. According to police, on January 28th officers responded to an overdose call at Ollie’s on S. Main St. The victim was found unresponsive and passed away from the toxic effects of the drug overdose. Through investigation it was determined that the suspect, Anthony Abney had sold the drugs to the victim.
Based on this information and other evidence gathered detectives charged Abney with Manslaughter 2nd degree on 03/22/22. Abney was transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center. Police added that these cases can be hard to investigate as sometimes it is hard to pinpoint who provided the deadly drugs. However, they said it is their mission to continue to prosecute those that provide the drugs.
