A Laurel County man has been arrested after reportedly standing in the middle of the roadway and jumping in front of passing vehicles
The Laurel County Sheriffs office says Mark Roberts, age 59 of London, was arrested Wednesday evening around 5:30.
The arrest occurred on Lick Fork Road, approximately 4 miles east of London. While in route to the scene a deputy was advised that the male subject had allegedly punched a vehicle that was passing by him. When the officer arrived at the scene, he determined Roberts to be under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect then became noncompliant when confronted according to the officer, and the suspect took down the deputy, kicking him multiple times.
The suspect was taken into custody after back-up arrived on scene.
Mark Roberts was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place; menacing; resisting arrest; assault – third-degree (police officer)
Roberts was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
