Tensions are still running high among many parents, students, and school personnel at Madison Middle School in Richmond.
Following the tragic and unexpected death of a student last Friday, school officials along with Richmond Police have both issued statements today. The statements are addressing rampant fears and unsubstantiated rumors surrounding the matter, and apparent threats that have been made against other students, this weekend on social media outlets.
MMS Principal Amie Gallion released this statement today:
Richmond Police also weighed in on the matter today, saying they have been made aware of the situation. Police confirmed extra measures are being taken for student and staff safety at MMS.
Both MMS and RPD also emphasized additional resources are being made available to counsel and help students cope with the current situation. You can read more on that on the link the school provided Friday https://bit.ly/MMSCommunityCares.
