Two students from the AFS Academy of Martial Arts / 10th Planet Richmond traveled to Nashville on Friday for jiu jitsu matches on the Fight 2 Win 245 Nashville event.
Natilee Wells, a student at Madison Middle School in Richmond, KY, secured her second Fight to Win victory in Nashville, Tennessee on F2W 245. Demonstrating exceptional technique, Wells improved her F2W record to an impressive 2-0. The match began with Wells executing a fast guard pull, swiftly working to secure an arm bar within the opening seconds. Her opponent, in an attempt to counter, was swept by Wells, who then skillfully took her back and transitioned into a rear triangle. The climax of the match saw Wells finishing her opponent with a triangle arm bar just over 2 minutes into the competition.
On the same card, Victoria Lopes, another promising young athlete at 10th Planet Richmond, showcased her resilience and fighting spirit. Despite her valiant efforts to defend against a guard pull and subsequent arm bar attempt, Lopes found herself in a challenging position but fought bravely before submitting to a triangle arm bar. Both Wells and Lopes exemplify the spirit of martial arts with their perseverance, skill, and respect for their opponents.
Looking ahead, both young ladies are set to return to competition next weekend in Bowling Green with their 10th Planet Richmond teammates for the Fuji BJJ event. Their performances are eagerly anticipated as they continue to represent their school, team, and the martial arts community with pride.
