Linda Hager Pack and Pat Banks held a successful book signing this past Saturday, May 9th at Hager Cabinets. Over 200 people showed up as Linda welcomed everyone to the book signing while Pat signed their third book, Appalachian Plants: In the Garden, in the Yard, and in the Wild. Linda had signed several books beforehand and graciously personalized the books.
Their previous two books are A is for Appalachia: The Alphabet Book of Appalachian Heritage released in 2002 which is collection of stories, recipes, and traditions and 2009 and Appalachian Toys and Games from A to Z released in 2013 which is an educational book exploring traditional playtime activities. Their recent release is a guide to the botanical, cultural, and spiritual connections to the land and includes some poetry and recipes.
This pair, Linda Hager Pack and Pat Banks, have established themselves as a team focused on the Appalachian culture which is so appreciated by so many from this region.
Just for the record, these books make a perfect birthday present or Christmas gift for a loved one and served this writer well as a wonderful Mother’s Day gift.
Congratulations to Linda Park Hager and Pat Banks! Kudos ladies and keep up the good work!
