A Madison County man has been charged with attempted murder and 1st degree assault following a reported stabbing on Owsley Fork Road this past Saturday.
Upon their arrival to the scene, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies located two victims who had multiple lacerations that police say were consistent with knife attacks.
The suspect, later identified as James Chocran, had fled the scene before authorities arrived. After an alert was issued for his vehicle, Kentucky State Police located Cochran and detained him. He was then transferred to the custody of the sheriff’s office before being lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
According to the sheriff’s office, emergency responders treated a male victim at the scene, while a female victim was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
