The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the community of another scam circulating. The department received information today, Saturday December 28th of a phone scam that is making the rounds once again.
The caller is stating that they are “Deputy Davis” and then transfer the recipient of the call to a “Sgt. Collins” of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The caller is attempting to get parties to meet at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, claiming that parties have warrants, in order to exchange & gather personal information.
Be aware of phone scammers posing as law enforcement officers who demand immediate payment for fake fines, missed court dates, or outstanding warrants!
Call Madison County Dispatch if you suspect, or have been victim of, a phone scam, and never provide personal information or send money to someone claiming to be law enforcement over the phone.
