Madison County School Superintendent David Gilliam announced today that Tuesday, January 22nd will be an NTI day due to illness of students. The school board is following suit of multiple other local school administrations by cancelling classes, largely due to the flu.
Gilliam says that the illness has severely impacted attendance this week, and that the long weekend will allow for recuperation of students. The potential for bad weather this weekend also played into the decision.
