The Food for Fines event is being hosted by the Madison County public Library through November 19th-December 3rd. These dates will provide the people of Richmond with overdue books an opportunity to help decrease their fine by bringing in some non-perishable food items. Wbontv spoke with Library Director Ruthie Maslin who went into detail about the fines and how a singular food item is exactly a dollar off of a fine and how food that is opened or damaged and without labels will not be accepted. Maslin also states that tuna and peanut butter are the most sought after food items of the event.
