On Friday a man was arrested on alleged charges of Wanton Endangerment in the Madison Mobile Home Park.
52 year old Randall Dargavell called RPD and stated that his roommate/cousin, pushed him back out of his chair. The Roommate also called 911 allegedly stating that Dargavell was intoxicated and had threatened to shoot her. Upon arrival, Police made contact with Dargavell who said that his roommate had flipped him backwards out of his recliner. Officers stated that an altercation may have occurred prior to their arrival but that it was not domestic related and both parties were intoxicated. Police spoke with the roommate who said that Dargavell pulled a gun on her the day before and threatened to shoot her.
This altercation allegedly started prior to arrival of police and the roommate stated that Dargavell exited the trailer and began yelling at the next door neighbor. The roommate said she told Dargavell to go back inside, and that he was allegedly drunk. She also stated that she assisted Dargavell back up the stairs towards the front door where Dargavell allegedly shoved her. She told police that she put him in his recliner and he reached over towards the table beside the recliner, allegedly retrieving his gun. The roommate also stated that Dargavell threatened suicide.
According to the roommate Dargavell then pointed the handgun at her and said “No, I don’t want to die, I’m going to shoot you.” The roommate stated that she wrestled the gun away from Dargavell and hid it in a back bedroom, then left the area. Dargavell was read his Miranda Rights to which he stated he understood and wished to waive to speak with RPD officers. Dargavell said that he did not ever have the intention of hurting her “at all in any way.” Dargavell stated that the during the day before yesterday the roommate pushed and shoved him down saying that he did not need to be outside. Dargavell said he got “Daisy,” referring to his .45 caliber Taurus handgun. Dargavell said that he pointed it in the air and stated “this is Daisy,” in an attempt to warn Conley not to hurt him. Police asked Dargavell if he ever pointed the gun at his roomate and he allegedly responded with, “I guess I probably did.” According to the roommate she believed the gun was loaded.
Dargavell was arrested under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, wantonly engaged in conduct which created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to his roommate by pointing a firearm at her. Dargavell was arrested and transported to the Madison County Detention Center.
