Madison County’s local banks have always played an important role in the success of our community. These local banks are putting up money for the good of our local community called the Madison County Community Foundation. This endowment fund supports community initiatives. The Madison County Community Foundation has a local board that is responsible for the money and it’s disbursements. Their latest support was for third through sixth graders called “To Good for Drugs.” In December WBON-TV did a story on this community endowment fund where Madison County business men and women challenged each other to support this initiative. Now the challenge has moved on to local banks where Madison County banks are each giving the Community Foundation $1,500 for three years totally $4,500. Seven banks have confirmed participation in this major initiative with three more expected.
