Madison Co. Animal Shelter: Feral dogs find foster homes

The Madison County Animal Shelter has provided an update on some feral dogs they took in a couple weeks ago in an emergency rescue.

Out of a group of 12 dogs that were brought in, eight of them were able to be moved to kennels shortly after arriving. However, four of the dogs had been struggling to adjust to living in the shelter and shelter officials concluded that they required special care. Last week in a social media post, the Animal Shelter asked local rescue organizations for assistance in caring for these dogs.

Today, the Shelter says all four have now been safely placed into foster homes with rescues experienced in working with their respective breed and needs. According to MCAS officials, these rescues are providing the specialized care and attention the dogs need. The Madison County Animal Shelter thanked the people who were able to share their post and get in touch with local rescue organizations.
