Madison Central High School junior, Logan Cantrell, emerged victorious at the prestigious Good Fight Worlds Championship held in Pennsylvania this weekend, securing the national title in the 135-pound weight class.
Cantrell, competing under the banner of 10th Planet Richmond, showcased his exceptional skills and determination against top-notch competitors from around the nation.
Good Fight, renowned for hosting submission only competitions, extended an invitation to Cantrell due to his consistent success, having taken gold in there London, KY event leading up to the championship. Accepting the invitation, Cantrell, representing 10th Planet Richmond, demonstrated his proficiency in both gi and nogi categories at the 135-pound weight class for Good Fight Worlds.
In his opening gi match, Cantrell secured victory in overtime with a rear naked choke, setting the tone for an impressive performance. The momentum continued as Cantrell dominated his second gi match, securing the title of Good Fight Gi champion at 135 in the white belt division with a decisive belly-down armbar within regulation.
Transitioning to the nogi category, Cantrell’s prowess shone brightly as he secured wins in his first two matches by rear naked choke in regulation. His outstanding performance culminated in another submission victory on the podium, this time with a shotgun armbar.
