A Berea Police officer was dispatched to a Morning View Road residence Sunday evening in response to an alleged domestic assault case.
When the official arrived to the scene, one of the suspects had already left. Police spoke with the tenant of the apartment, Mark McDaniels, who told authorities that he had invited his girlfriend over for a spaghetti dinner.
According to McDaniels, his girlfriend, later identified as Majeeda Galluzzo, was intoxicated upon arriving to his residence. Galluzzo reportedly began throwing the spaghetti throughout the home.
McDaniels also claimed that Galluzzo refused to leave the apartment, and even struck him on his side with a candle holder. Police did observe a small bruise on McDaniels’ body.
Authorities later found Galluzzo at a nearby pizza restaurant, where she reportedly told police that McDaniels became upset with her and began choking her. Galluzzo added that McDaniels held her down and refused to let her leave. Officers observed visible marks around her neck.
Police arrested both Galluzzo and McDaniels and transported them to the Madison County Detention Center. Galluzzo was charged with 4th Degree Assault; McDaniels was charged with 4th Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Strangulation.
