Although the shutdown ended within the past few days, the ramifications may still remain for those locally who went over a month (34 days) without a paycheck.
WBONtv spoke to a Federal Prison system worker from Lexington who was not willing to be on camera because of stipulations with his job, but he provided us with a statement explaining the situation at hand, and the apparent lack of morale at his place of work during the shutdown.

He updated WBONTV today and said that they will be paid in the next couple of days, however the fear still lingers that another shutdown could come about in 15 days.

According to news reports today, the five-week partial government shutdown cost the U.S. economy about $3 billion economic activity. The Congressional Budget Office said that this money will not be able to be recouped.
They also projected $11 billion in losses may be reconciled with an $8 billion boost for the GDP through 2019.
