A local family of a Marine injured in the suicide bombing attack in Kabul, Afghanistan is asking for prayers as she recovers in the hospital.
Kelsee Lainhart was injured on Thursday and underwent surgery Monday, according to updates posted on social media through family.
As of Monday, family reports she is heavily sedated and has a breathing tube. They add that she is very lucky to be alive as she has shrapnel in her temple above her right eye and near her spinal cord. She was originally treated in Germany before being flown to the US for the surgery.
Kelsee’s family, including those in Madison County, continue to ask for prayers on social media for the Marine.
