Today at City Hall, the Lions Club of Richmond dedicated a bench made of bottle caps in the covered area behind the building.
According to member Lynda Wooten, this is the third bench in the county made of this material, which she says is normally not recyclable.
The bottle caps are collected by the Lions Club, and are melted down to create the usable piece of art.
WBONTV spoke to another Lions Club member since 1989, Ordelle Hill, who told us that it takes approximately 400 lbs of recycled bottle caps per bench.
