A Lincoln County Sheirff’s Deputy is now injured after a dispute that occurred yesterday. According to police, early in the morning two deputies responded to a call regarding a man that was aggressive on Old Fort Road. The man, Joshua Craig, allegedly refused to comply with officers and was under the influence of what seemed to be some intoxicant. A taser was eventually deployed, to no effect. A scuffle ensued, and Craig allegedly even attempted to use a deputy’s flashlight against him. A deputy was treated afterwards for a minor injury at the hospital. Craig had to be treated at the hospital as well for methamphetamine intoxication as well as a laceration. He was then lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center ad charged with disorderly conduct, third degree assault of a police officer, menacing, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
