A stolen vehicle in Lexington Monday, led the Lexington Police Department air support unit on a pursuit of the vehicle into Madison County. The vehicle was reported stolen around 11 yesterday from the Walmart on Nicholasville Road and Man O’ War Boulevard.
Lexington Police helicopter searched and later located the vehicle at a residence on Charlie Norris Road in Madison County.
That’s when units with the Madison County Sheriff’s department converged on the scene yesterday afternoon. According to their reports, people started running from the scene, and three suspects, who attempted to leave in another vehicle, were intercepted. Those suspects were detained and questioned.
Lexington Police are investigating the theft, while the Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the receiving of stolen property.
The car recovered at the scene was confirmed as the one stolen and taken to the Madison County impound lot.
This is an active investigation, and arrests are expected soon.
